Prayer Update; Steve & Sherree Francis

Prayer Update; Steve & Sherree Francis

It’s all go over the next couple of weeks as conference season descends on Chiang Mai.  So we wanted to send a quick update just to highlight a few prayer requests before our upcoming trip in February.

We had a wonderful and restful trip to England over Christmas and New Year.  It was very nice to spend the holidays with Steve’s family in Eastbourne and be able to catch up with family and many friends over the 2 weeks.  We were prepared for cold weather but were pleasantly surprised with the mild December weather and even more surprised to see daffodils and other spring flowers in bloom!

But now we are back and have entered our final 1/2 year here in Thailand.  We are hoping to sell everything in the house, pack up and move to a rented, furnished apartment for our final month or so.  So there is a lot to do over the next few months to make this happen.  We hope this won’t be too stressful!

Since getting back from England, we’ve been catching up at the office.  Because many other SIM offices were also closed over the holidays – the backlog of emails wasn’t too bad.

This week our China team arrive in Chiang Mai for their bi-annual conference – starting on Saturday. (Before that, Steve will be in the China Council meetings Wednesday-Friday). We’re looking forward to catching up with some of these teammates and then saying goodbye since it will be the last time we see them before we leave in July.

Then we head off on 6th February for our trip to Bangladesh, India and Nepal. Please pray for this trip – especially the Nepal portion – as we meet with potential new ministry partners for us. Nepal has been struggling for several months as relations with India have become tense – resulting in blockades/closures at the main land borders and very limited resources and supplies getting into Nepal (its primary trading partner). This could have an impact on our travels since there are fuel shortages and sometimes buses and flights get cancelled.  So we will need to go with flexibility in mind with our itinerary and hope we get to all the places we have planned.

Thanks for all your prayers for us and we would especially appreciate your prayers as this is an important trip for us. We pray that God will help direct us clearly in our next steps and that this trip will be a confirmation for us.

 Blessings to you all,

 Steve and Sherree
