My thanks to each of you for praying for my trip to Paraguay.
The Lord richly blessed the leadership conference in San Lorenzo. Gideons and their wives came from all over the country for fellowship, inspiration, and ministry training. The doors are wide open for the advance of the gospel throughout the country and the Lord has raised up these leaders to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Paraguay.
Our final event was a special dinner with Pastors and their spouses from 19 churches in the San Lorenzo area. After the meeting we did some Scripture distributions in the local hospitals. God also opened the door for a meeting with the mayor of San Lorenzo. When we presented him with a copy of the Word of God, he was excited and shared he had always wanted to read the Bible but never seemed to have time. He is a medical doctor and now Mayor of San Lorenzo. After hearing the gospel and reading verses of Scripture, the mayor confessed his sins and prayed to receive Christ. This was the second mayor I met with in Paraguay. I never expected these meetings but God did. Praise God for His sovereign will and saving grace!
At the end of last week I traveled to Queretaro, Mexico to work with the Gideons here to distribute 100,000 Scriptures in schools, colleges, hospitals, and police stations. The metropolitan area of Queretaro has over 1 million people. It is the fastest growing city in Mexico and has the highest suicide rate in the country. Yesterday was the first day of distributions and 21,043 Testaments were distributed. Please pray that hearts will be prepared and that God will bring the increase as the precious seed of His Word is planted and watered this week in Queretaro (Mark 4:20, 1 Corinthians 3:7). Please also pray for many witnessing opportunities to lead lost souls to Christ. There is much witchcraft in this region of the country and we sense the reality of spiritual warfare. Thank you for your precious prayers (Ephesians 6:18-19).
For Christ and the advance of the gospel to end of the earth,
“Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold now is the day of salvation.”
