Update: Doug Vaughan in Kenya

Latest news & Prayer reminder for Doug as The Gideon Team begins distribution of Bibles in Kenya, Africa. (Message below from his wife, Diane)

Hi Everyone,

Doug made it to Kenya. Right now the rest of the team will be arriving soon. There are a total of 10 International Gideons to join the local camps. They will meet today regarding their plans for the week. Tomorrow night will be their Sunday morning where they will speak at 30 churches. It is here they will ask for more workers to take them to the places they need to go, vehicles etc. During the week they will visit 700 schools and other distributions points with a goal of 200,000 scriptures!! Please pray for health, stamina, God’s opening of doors and hearts, safety in their travels as many of the conditions are not very easy, timing of their arrival at the different destination points, etc. As you can imagine it takes a lot of planning and God’s perfect timing and work for something like this to happen. The Regional Director of the Gideons has asked the local Auxiliary to fast and pray at the hotel for the distribution this week. And May God bring the increase!!

On Thursday evening, (Doug’s Friday), Doug was able to visit with Matt & Kristy Faber, missionaries from our church in Bellingham. The Fabers are teachers to missionary kids at Rift Valley Academy. He had a wonderful time with them, having dinner and a cook off with their high school students.. He also got to meet a fellow teacher who was saved by a Gideon Testament when she was in school in Scotland! She came from a non-Christian family. She was so thankful to the Gideons.

Thank you for praying!!
