Macedonia Missive- June 22, 2018

Today, the team was playing basketball with the youth in Novo Selo. Some of these kids will be the future leaders of the church in Macedonia. They also visited a house church.

Macedonia Missive- June 21, 2018

The Macedonia team has been working with kids today. They prepared bible stories to teach the kids in Novo Selo, and participated in the sports ministry before teaching those stories.

Macedonia Missive- June 20, 2018

Today the team was able to meet with church members in the local area, and pray for a new church plant.

They also met with youth leaders from the church.  These youth leaders are bringing in kids from 10 different churches once a month for monthly meetings.

Ministry is happening!  Please keep the team in your prayers as they encourage the believers in Macedonia.

1:30-2:15pm- The Art of Asking Questions and Active Listening: Ryan Cleveland
One of the hardest things to do when it comes to sharing the Gospel with someone is knowing where to begin the conversation.  In order to do that well, you need to first ask questions to find out where someone is at in their spiritual journey towards Jesus. In this workshop, we will look at practical ways on how to combine asking the right questions and using active listening in ways that would lead to Spirit-led Gospel Conversations.
2:30-3:15pm- Gospel Conversations: Ryan Cleveland
In this workshop we will explore how to communicate a clear gospel message in simple and meaningful ways. First, we will look at how to communicate the story of how you came to Christ in such a way that people would not only know what happened when you came to Christ, but how they can come to Christ too.  Second, we will walk through how to utilize a few simple tools to help share the gospel and lead people to a point of decision.
3:30-4:15- Building Relationships With Your Neighbors: Diana Cleveland
Want to make an impact for Christ in the lives of your friends and neighbors? In this workshop we will discuss principles that will help you better with others in ways that will open up opportunities for the Gospel.  We will also address how to develop effective evangelistic strategies to connect to the hearts of the people you are trying to share Christ with, and how you can leverage simple hospitality to create Gospel community.  This will be a practical how-to workshop.
3:30-4:15Marketplace Theology: Does God Belong at Work?: Joshua Parriera
We are all called to be missionaries, right? But how does that work in the real world? Not everybody is called to go overseas but we are all called to go across the street. You will come in contact with people today that will most likely never step foot into a church. How will they get to see how amazing Jesus is, unless we live it out and teach them about Him? Your workplace, school and sphere of influence is your mission field. Will you accept the calling of being a missionary everywhere you go? Join me on this journey…

Byle Family Newsletter from Istanbul Summer 2016

Greetings in Christ from Istanbul. These are amazing days to be in Turkey, and we thank God for the news we hear of believers all over the world praying for Turkey because of the recent coup attempt and the state of emergency that’s been in effect since then. For those of us who know Jesus, 1 Cor. 16:9 and His power to save, this state of “emergency” is a state of “opportunity.”

The recent failed coup attempt and the Turkish Church. Not all western media have correctly understood what is happening in Turkey….

Ministry Update – Macedonia

Dear prayer and support team,

Yesterday I was with Turkish Muslim people at Safet house and there were 8 old people and a lot of children. When I started to speak about Jesus they didn’t allow me to express the gospel, all the time the Muslim leaders were interrupting me. I was 4 hours with them and they didn’t agree with the gospel. They are totally in a wrong way. I expected from Safet to be more open for Jesus but the Muslim leaders are confusing him. Spiritual darkness is very great and they do not allow the Holy Spirit to work in them. I was not able to take pictures because the situation was very tough. I believe that in the future the Holy Spirit will work in them and they will come to repentance in the name of Jesus Christ and start to follow him. I will continue to be among them and work with them.

Yesterday the kids from our basketball sport ministry and some kids from the church called me and told me that they want to start to have once a week bible studies at our church. They told me that they have a vision that many kids from the town will join them and that the group will constantly growth. We wait 8 years for that to happen. I’m so proud with the kids and I believe that many of them will become spiritual leaders and will join us in the team.

Zechariah 4:10
Do not despise these small beginnings

Prayer request:

  • Please pray for Safet and his family that the Muslim leaders in his area will not have impact in their lives and that they will open their hearts for Jesus.
  • Please pray for Firki and his whole family that the Muslim leaders will not have impact in their lives.
  • Please pray for our kids for the new beginning, that they will grow spiritually and that their parents will not be the obstacle in their lives for the spiritual growth. All our basketball kids have Orthodox background.
  • Please pray for me and my family that God will use us for His glory.
