Family Ministry is intentionally and persistently coordinating our ministry’s proclamation and practices so that parents are acknowledged, trained, and encouraged as primary disciple- makers in their children’s lives.
Family Ministry includes Children’s Ministry (i.e. Sunday School, Children’s Church, Nursery, VBS, Awana, Indoor Park), Youth Ministry (both Middle School & High School), Parenting Classes, Marriage Classes, and Marriage Retreats.
We do this through not only all of the ministries and programs listed above, but through carefully considering how we may make disciples as a church body while also partnering with, encouraging, and equipping parents as the God- ordained primary disciple-makers in their children’s lives. We want to see God-glorifying families who have a biblical view of both the role of the family and the role of the church as together we know Christ and make Him known.
Classes for everyone starting at age 2! Classes feature The Gospel Story curriculum by New Growth Press. Students grow in their knowledge of God through this well-rounded program that teaches the entire Bible–from Genesis to Revelation. All classes meet at 9:00 a.m. Nursery is available for children under 2. Visit www.newgrowthpress.com for more information.
We offer an exciting, age appropriate children’s program for our Kindergarten through 2nd graders during our 10:30 am worship service. The curriculum is a Christ-centered Bible study called The Gospel Project for Kids. This study follows a chronological timeline of Bible events, presenting the story of redemption through Jesus like kids have never seen it before. In three years kids see the Bible unfold from pre-creation to eternity, looking at Christ and the gospel each step of the way! Learn more at gospelproject.com/kids.
Nursery at Immanuel provides families with children aged birth to age 5 a safe, fun place for their young ones to stay during Sunday School,Sunday morning worship, and occasionally during other ministries. A nursing room is also available for mothers, with a video and audio feed of the worship service.
Vacation Bible School
In the summer we hold a week of Vacation Bible School. This year’s VBS, was held on July 8-12, 2019and was co-hosted by Child Evangelism Fellowship. Our theme was “Jesus is my Superhero.” VBS had a missionary focus this year, and the missionary of emphasis was Hudson Taylor.
Awana is a Christ-centered, Bible-based weekly program during the school year for girls and boys from age 3 through 6th grade. This ministry meets from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday evenings. Immanuel’s Awana program includes Cubbies, Sparks, and TNT. We begin our new year on September 11th. Plan to join us and invite friends!
Revival Middle School and High School
Join us Sundays mornings at 9:00am for Sunday School. We also gather most Sunday evenings at 6:00pm for worship in singing, Bible study, small groups, games, and snacks.
Our four main events throughout the year are focused on Fellowship, Outreach, Discipleship, and Service. Examples of these events include a Sledding Day, May Madness Outreach Night including broomball on ice, serving together at the Lighthouse Mission, and our Middle School Backpacking Trip. Consistent with our goal to see parents disciple their children (Eph. 6:1-4), we do all of our activities looking for ways that we can equip and encourage parents in their God-given role.
